What is PSYREN about?
PSYREN follows high school student Ageha Yoshina, who finds a mysterious red phone card in a public telephone booth. Days later, his childhood friend and classmate Sakurako Amamiya disappears after possessing the same kind of card.
Ageha's search draws him toward rumors of nationwide disappearances connected to a secret organization called Psyren — and into a deadly game that changes his life.
What to know before watching PSYREN
The anime adapts Toshiaki Iwashiro's manga, originally serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump. The official English site describes the manga as a psychic action battle series and notes that the television anime arrives roughly 15 years after the manga's conclusion.
The production is directed by Katsumi Ono at SATELIGHT, with Shin Yoshida handling series composition and Akira Okuma credited for character design.
