We generally do not need generic rankings, plot summaries, unverified rumors, promotional copy or pitches built only around search keywords.

What to send

Keep the pitch concise and include:

1. A working headline and a two- or three-paragraph description of the story.
2. The central angle and what makes it different from existing coverage.
3. Why you are the right person to write it.
4. Relevant clips or samples, if available.
5. Expected sources, interviews, access needs and a realistic delivery window.

Please pitch before sending a complete unsolicited draft.

Originality and standards

Submitted work must be original, accurate and not under simultaneous consideration elsewhere unless disclosed. Sources and potential conflicts of interest must be identified. Plagiarism, fabricated quotations or undisclosed promotional relationships are not accepted.

Any meaningful use of generative AI in research or drafting must be disclosed with the pitch. Writers remain responsible for verification and must follow our Editorial Policy.

Process, payment and rights

A pitch is not commissioned until terms are confirmed in writing. Scope, deadline, payment, editing process and publication rights will be agreed before work begins. Submission does not guarantee acceptance or publication.

We may edit commissioned work for accuracy, structure, clarity and house style in consultation with the writer where practical.
