Dr. STONE TERRAFORMING is getting an anime adaptation. The official announcement, dated October 10, 2026, confirms production of a continuation to the television story and introduces an announcement promotional video.
What does TERRAFORMING adapt?
The official release identifies TERRAFORMING, collected in manga volume 27, as the source material. It describes this as sequel material set after the main story's conclusion. That gives the project a place in the narrative without requiring readers to know its post-finale plot.
Shueisha's volume 27 contents list TERRAFORMING separately from three 4D SCIENCE installments. The anime announcement names TERRAFORMING; it does not confirm that every entry in the volume is being adapted. Sharing a book is not the same as sharing a confirmed anime production scope.
The same announcement says the TV series reached its finale on June 25, 2026. TERRAFORMING therefore represents a continuation beyond that ending, not a reason to stop before finishing the existing series. This report avoids the sequel's story developments for viewers who are still catching up.
Where can you find the announcement video?
The production announcement embeds a PV featuring newly recorded Senku voice work, according to the official page. The site's TERRAFORMING video section also lists the announcement PV. The release includes messages from original creators Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi marking the news.
Does Dr. STONE TERRAFORMING have a release date?
No premiere date is given in the cited announcement. It also does not establish a release format, episode count or international streaming service. Production confirmation alone is not enough to label the project Season 5, a theatrical film or a dated television special.
The official site's MOVIE menu is a section for promotional videos, not evidence that TERRAFORMING will be a feature film. Its entries also include television seasons and a TV special. The format question should remain open until an announcement addresses it explicitly.
What viewers should watch for next
The next useful announcement would establish how and when the continuation will be released, followed by any territory-specific distribution details. Our explainer on regional anime streaming availability explains why a Japanese production announcement is not itself a global platform license.
